The eponymous Kao was once chasing a butterfly when he was suddenly caught in a cage by the game’s antagonist – a poacher named Hunter. Unfortunately for the hunter, he had once forgotten to close the cage, leaving the kangaroo an open path to escape. The marsupial seized the opportunity, but when he found himself not far from home, he remembered his trapped family. Now he must return and defeat the wicked poacher. Kao the Kangaroo – the first installment in the series of the same name, developed by X-Ray Interactive (later renamed Tate Interactive, and subsequently Tate Multimedia), and published by Titus on November 23, 2000, for PC and the Sega Dreamcast console.
